Crayon melting, everyone wants to do it. Well now I will tell you how I did these. I have done some other crayon art projects at my house, but I looked on pinterest for some new ideas. I found a picture of a crayon art that came in from both sides and then went down to the bottom, but I wanted to make mine a little different so on the one crayon art I but a piece of duck tape on the bottom so that the crayon wax wouldn't go there. Then I put my name on it. The one of the white canvas I am most proud of the way that the colors blended together and the way it looks like it drips down the canvas. On the crayon art with the black paper as the background I wanted it to look cool and a little like chevron. When I glued the crayons on I lined the base of the crayon with the end of the paper so that it would look the same on all the the patterns. I really like how the colors pop out and stand out.
This is my second printmaking project. I wanted to do my initials for this one. So I did ACT of the linoleum block. First I drew out what i wanted to look like on a piece of paper, then I traced it on to the linoleum block. Next I had to pick out the colors that I wanted it to be. The first color that I did was blue, which I then made the A that color. Then I wanted the A to stay blue so I cut out the A because I wanted that to stay blue. Then next I wanted the C to be yellow so I then printed again, and had to line it up so that the A and the c would connect. Then next I cut out the C because I wanted it to stay yellow. Then I did purple for the T, and after I had that printed I left it because I wasn't going to do anymore colors. I really like how the final product turned out and how the colors kind of blend together. It was really fun printing them and how I had a challenge lining them up. Below is a slideshow of the process pictures, and some of the steps that I went through.
This is my printmaking project. Basketball is my favorite sport, so I want to make that my printmaking project. It is a backboard and a basketball. This was a really fun project, first what Ihadto do was to draw out what I want to b on it. Then I drew it on to the linoleum, after I drew it onto the linoleum block I had to decide what part I wanted to stay white. The part that I wanted to stay white I carved out right away. Next i had just the outline of the ball and the backboard, the first color that i used was yellow. I used yellow first so that i could get the backboard almost done and then layered the other colors on top of it. After I had washed the yellow ink off of the linoleum I carved out the part that I wanted to stay yellow. Then I did that for the next color, which was orange then when I was one with the orange I carved out the part that I wanted to stay orange. Then I did hat again for the black.I really like how the colors turned out so bright that that I got all of the layers to match up on the final product.
One of the things that I took away from Nicky's family is that no matter if they are your family or not you can still help them. If you are in a hard situation like most of these people were there will always be someone to help you through it. The best part of my day was seeing the movie and how Sir Nicolas Winton changed so many peoples lives, and saved so many people without telling anyone that he did this. My favorite piece of art work was the big melt sculpture on UNI's campus ( see figure 1 below). The main message of the Quakerdale exhibit was that no matter what you are going through there will be someone to help you through it and then will always be someone to help you in hard times. One of the pieces of artwork that was at the Quakerdale exhibit was this mirror with a picture on it of a girl and she was crying. The person who make it took all different sizes of this photo and cut the outside rings of it and then in the middle of the mirror there was just the picture of the girl, but it was interesting that the artist that made this left part of the mirror plank so they when you looked at it you could see yourself. There was this one piece of art work that i really liked, (as shown in figure 2) I like this because I play basketball, and it is my favorite sport. So, I became really interested in it seeing how the person made all of the little detailing on the ball and how they made it look real.
This is one of my 2-D art projects. This art was hard and easy is some ways, it was easy in making the background. For the background I used pastels. the hard part about this was going up with a good quote that would go with the background. I came up with a Dr. Seuss quote because I love his quotes and it this one really went along with the background. When I did the pastel for the background I colored it first and then I thought that is could look cooler, so I smudged it so it would blend the colors.
This is my other 2-D projects. I took all of the pictures when I was on a cruise over winter break. This was a really fun project because i got the look though the pictures that I took and then pick a few that I thought looked really good. Then I took a piece of cardboard and covered it in black paper, then I put the pictures on a colored background. After I put them on the board with push pins. By using the push pins, I thought that it would look more creative and more out of the box then if I would of just glue it on.
My social media choice was twitter. Some of the pro that I came up with were that twitter is easy and fun to use, some of the cons were that it takes up most of your time. I chose to do the con side because i wanted people to know some cons about twitter. If i had chose the pro side then i would of had people laughing and have good time and making it sound really fun and easy to use. I am most happy with the way that the final product turned out and and the way that i have the twitter birds all around the picture with the big clock in the middle of everything. i also like how I have the day and the night showing time in a different way.
We were told to take 20 videos of everything that we do in are day. We could not have any body parts in are videos. Then we put them into iMovie and added sound effects and edited the videos. What was hard about this was not getting any body parts in the videos. What was easy was thinking of what all the videos were and how I was going to do them. What surprised me was how how many different things I do in my life a day. I learned more about my classmates and what they do everyday. I leaned what some of my classmates hobbies are and what they like to do.
